Dr. Arun had the pleasure of getting back into community services with yet another eye health presentation. The one hour presentation contained details relating to several age related eye health changes, and how they can be managed or treated.
She even had a patient in the group which shared his personal experience, which we hope has given a sense of courage to those fearing some of the eye care surgeries the older population may consider.

Dr. Arun participated in a 1hr, Tamil interview on the Tamil language channel, TVi. She discussed the importance of eye care starting from infancy to adulthood.
She answered several questions from live viewer call-ins.

MJEC Completes the World Sight Day Challenge 2014

Mount Joy Eye Care is pleased to have participated in the World Sight Day Challenge lead by Optometry Giving Sight. More than 600 million people around the world are blind or vision impaired because they do not have access to the eye examination and glasses they need.
Optometry Giving Sight is the only global fundraising initiative that specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision due to uncorrected refractive error – simply the need for an eye exam and a pair of glasses. Dr. Chong from Mount Joy Eye Care held an exciting information session on eye health at SEAS Centre in Markham. The presentation catered to the Chinese speaking newcomer seniors. Topics of discussion included tips for preventative vision care, what is covered by OHIP and age related eye health problems.

Eye Health Presentation to Tamil Seniors in Markham

Dr. Arun had an enjoyable Saturday morning with the Tamil seniors in Markham talking about Age-Related Eye Health. The weekly program for seniors is delivered by Human Endeavour. We would like to thank the agency for continuing to provide vital services to the seniors and for creating this opportunity for seniors to learn more about preventative eye health care.
